Join San Mateo County in Celebrating National Poetry Month

Calling all poets! The San Mateo County Poet Laureate is looking for poetry about the culture or heritage of San Mateo County—and our talented poets. Poems should be no longer than 40 lines, and you may submit multiple poems. All submissions must be received during the month of April. Submit poems by email to mdragun@smcgov.org or by mail to:

A broad range of poems from school-age, teen, and adult poets who exemplify the rich and diverse cultural history of San Mateo County will be read at a "Poetry is Heritage" event on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 6:30-8:30 PM. The reading will be held in the Oak Room of the Fair Oaks Library, located at 2510 Middlefield Road in Redwood City. There is no charge for the event, and everyone is welcome.
