The San Mateo County Office of Education invites youth leaders and policymakers to explore Patient No More, a traveling exhibit timed to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It celebrates the success of the 26-day occupation of the Federal Building in San Francisco in April 1977, when a group of more than 100 people occupied a government building to demand rights granted under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
The event will provide an opportunity to learn about the power of civic engagement, and there will be a discussion led by Facing History and Ourselves.
