ECET2 Conference Returns to San Mateo County
REDWOOD CITY, CA – The San Mateo County Office of Education is proud to host the Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers (ECET2) conference on Saturday, November 7, 2015. ECET2 Bay Area is modeled after an annual national conference of teacher leaders designed to provide a forum for exceptional teachers to learn from one another and celebrate their profession. The convening is premised on the belief that teachers are influential in creating educational and economic opportunities for children.
Over 100 teacher leaders from across the Bay Area will engage around the theme of "Leadership and Innovation." The event will feature a TED-style keynote talk on cultivating a calling for teachers to honor student voices, and teachers will be participating in small-group discussions as a way to share solutions to challenges they encounter in their schools and communities. Teacher leaders will do presentations for their peers on flipped classrooms, restorative practices, co-teaching models, and design thinking.
The San Mateo County Office of Education believes that the degree to which teachers collaborate with, learn from, and support one another impacts their ability to ensure students thrive in the educational environment. This event will celebrate teachers and the unique roles they play in helping our youth discover their passion and skills.
