The Business Services Division delivers services to support the educational programs of San Mateo County school districts, partnering agencies and the business community it serves. The division strives to improve efficiency and implement business solutions with a high level of customer service and professionalism, while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Business Services provides technical, advisory, and management support services to San Mateo County's twenty-three K-12 school districts as well as other federal, state and county agencies in matters relating to financial accounting and budgeting, administrative systems (software), attendance reporting, Local Control Funding Formula calculations, review of district audit reports, tax apportionments, and vendor payment audits.
The divisions also provides support to the County's twenty-three K-12 school districts in areas such as payroll services, retirement reporting to the California Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) and the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS).
