A Job that Matters
"There are numerous reasons why I feel the San Mateo County Office of Education is one of the BEST places to work. It's easy to be inspired and motivated each day when surrounded by such caring, appreciative and dedicated professionals intent on making a difference. There's a lot happening here to benefit our children and our schools; our future."
Employee of the Month
Each month, the Board and Superintendent recognize an employee or multiple employees for their outstanding service. This month we honor Lavinia Canales and Magdalena Yanez, Bilingual Family Counselors in the Student Services Division.
Magdalena and Lavinia support the families of children enrolled in the San Mateo County Office of Education’s Early Start, Preschool, and K-12 special education programs. Last June, they attended the County Office’s Parent Café Training Institute, where they learned to facilitate parent gatherings, support family leadership skills, and enhance school-to-family connections.
