Coding with English Learners

How does Computer Science support English Learners?

Coding is a powerful method of creation, but it’s also a collaborative activity that encourages using language for research, planning, argumentation, and teamwork! In this hands-on half-day workshop, you will experience how coding empowers students to interact in meaningful ways and negotiate language to create their own interactive stories and apps.

Participants will:

learn the basics of Computer Science
learn strategies to integrate coding and ELD
animate a story with Scratch
