Safe Routes to School Summit

This annual mini-conference is held at the beginning of the school year and includes a keynote speaker, workshops and a resource fair. Attendees include Safe Routes to School coordinators and partners.

Safe Routes to School Coordinator Meetings

The Coordinator Meetings are quarterly gatherings. District and School Level Program Coordinators, Parent Champions, and Program Volunteers are encouraged to attend these meetings. The meetings provide program implementers with information about best practices and an opportunity to collaborate with other program implementers.

Community Advisory Committee Meetings

Policy Advisory Committee Meetings are interactive meeting sessions designed to inform and enhance Safe Routes to School Program operation and county-wide implementation. City, County, Government, Education, Health, Environment, Transportation, and other similar agency representatives are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Workshops

In addition to the professional development opportunities available at meetings, workshops for event preparation are also held at the County Office of Education.

On-Site Workshops

Looking for additional support or can't make it to a workshop? Workshops and trainings are also frequently held at school sites and school district offices. These workshops can be tailored to address specific school and district needs. Some example trainings include:

  • Student Traffic Control/Kiddie Valet
  • Volunteer Crossing Guard Orientation
  • Parent Orientation to Safe Routes to School
