School library services offered by contract to augment and improve the District's existing library programs and collections and to enable the District to comply with state credentialing regulations pertaining to the provision of professional library services. Services provided under this contract are not intended to replace those that would be provided by a full-time certificated Library Media Teacher employed by the District.
Summer Library Camp - August 8, 2017
The San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties Offices of Education will be holding their 15th Annual Library Summer Camp on August 8, 2017. Valerie Lewis and Walter Mayes will be sharing their new favorites! Conference Workshop highlights include Developing Bilingual Libraries, Dive into Diversity, and so much more. 2015-16 California School Library Survey
This year's Library Survey is underway. Education Code Section 18122 directs local governing boards to report to the California Department of Education (CDE) on the condition of school libraries. Your input is vital in collecting this information about your school's library. Please have only one member of each school's library team complete the survey.
Judy Moomaugh Award
Congratulations go out to this year's recipient of the Judy Moomaugh Award - Carla Ryan! She is the Library Aide at Noble Elementary School in Alum Rock. Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating our freedom to read. This year it will be held from September 24 through September 30, 2017. The event highlights the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings everyone together — librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider to be unorthodox or unpopular.
