Environmental Literacy is a new initiative for the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE), which launched at the start of the 2017-18 school year. School communities and leaders who advocate for and prioritize environmental education for all students.
Environmental Literacy Initiative Mission:
Equip all students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences to act individually and collectively to bring forward an environmentally sustainable, socially just, and economically thriving existence.
