Become a Certified Maker Educator!

Robert Pronovost
STEM Center Coordinator for Maker Education

Good news! San Mateo County Office of Education has begun working with Sonoma County Office of Education and Sonoma State University to support educators who wish to earn the Maker Educator Certificate. Our goal is to support — financially and through coaching — a cohort of San Mateo County educators who are looking to earn the certificate this year.

The Maker Educator Certificate consists of three courses:

  • Introduction to Making Face-to-Face, taught in person in Oakland on Thursday, November 30, and Friday, December 1, OR online from October 16 through December 2;

  • Making for Educators, taught in person at SMCOE and partnering schools in the Peninsula/South Bay on four consecutive Saturdays: January 20, January 27, February 3, and February 10;

  • Maker Professional Development, taught online in the spring (likely the month of April).

For those who are interested in earning the certificate this year with support from our team (including Robert Pronovost), please fill out this form.
