As part of Making Spaces: Expanding Maker Education Across the Nation, a nationwide program supported by Google, the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) is partnering with the Maker Education Initiative (Maker Ed) and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh (CMP) to provide local schools with guidance, professional development, and support to jumpstart and sustain maker education in classrooms.
SMCOE's STEM team has spent the past six months helping 10 local schools jumpstart and sustain maker education movements in their classrooms. The schools have been working diligently to craft vision statements, build compelling plans for growing and sustaining making and learning, and put together crowdfunding campaigns that will support the maker movement in local schools. These campaigns have officially launched, and we hope you will click below to learn about and support their efforts.
Bayshore Elementary School (Bayshore) is currently finalizing its crowdfunding campaigns. Please check back for updates.
