Must be 18 years old by the internship start date.

Total of 4 internships being offered (Breakfast, Restaurant, Culinary, and Housekeeping) at Embassy Suites described below:

Pay Rate: $12.50 to $14 Depending on the Internship
Dates: 6-12 weeks, starting in early June
Hours:  6-8 hour shifts, 4-5 days a week
Location: Embassy Suites, South San Francisco

 

Internship #1: Breakfast


Starting the guest day off with a smile and a full stomach.

Complimentary breakfast is one of the most important pillars for the Embassy Suites. With this internship, you will be responsible for making sure every guest starts his or her day with a smile and a full stomach. During your internship, you will rotate throughout modules that include the below tasks:

            1. Taking accurate orders for the cook to order omelet station

            2. Learn how to cook omelets

            3. Learn to prep food the for the next day based on occupancy

            4. Learn how and when to restock the buffet/ Keep it clean between guests

            5. Run a bus station

 At the end of the internship, we hope that you will have increased your food knowledge in terms of temping food, labeling, important for cycling your stock, food prep and flexing for occupancy.

For this internship we are flexible with the start date ideally you would start at the end of May or early June- for 6 to 12 weeks. This paid internship will range from $13 to $14 an hour based on prior work and volunteer experience.

 At the Embassy Suites, we love to train and develop team members. Though there are a few basic items that we require all candidates to have, you must have a positive attitude about working with the public, you need to understand the importance of being punctual to work and in repose to any guest request. You must have your food handlers card (can be done online).

If hired your schedule will be 4 to 5 days a week 8 hour shifts with a start time that will flex from 5 to 6 in the morning. Your days off will fall during the week and weekends are required.

Internship #2: Restaurant

Our Restaurant features an ingredient-centered menu. This internship is designed to have you rotate throughout modules that include the below tasks:

1.     Learn the menu, including where ingratiates are farmed or why we user specific ingredients

2.     Greet guests and welcome them to the restaurant

3.     Run food from kitchen to the table

4.     Buss and pre buss tables

At the end of the internship, we hope that you will increase your food knowledge, sanitation, allergies, the importance of food consistency and accuracy.

For this internship we are flexible with the start date ideally you would start at the end of May or early June- for 6 to 12 weeks. This paid internship will range from $12.50 to $13.50 an hour based on prior work and volunteer experience.

At the Embassy Suites, we love to train and develop team members. Though there are a few basic items that we require all candidates to have, you must have a positive attitude about working with the public, you need to understand the importance of being punctual to work and in repose to any guest request. You must have your food handlers card (can be done online).

If hired your schedule will be 4 to 5 days a week 6 to 8 hour shifts the flex between 10:30 and 11pm. Your days off will fall during the week and weekends are required.

Internship #3: Culinary

We are lucky to have a cook to order omelet station during our breakfast hours, line cooks for the restaurant and lead cooks who prep and cook for all of our banquets. During your internship, you will rotate throughout modules that include the below tasks:

            1. Taking accurate orders for the cook to order omelet station

            2. Learn how to cook omelets

            3. Learn to prep food the for the next day based on occupancy

            4. Work with line cooks to accurately open the line and learn how to cook basic recipes.

 At the end of the internship, we hope that you will have increased your food knowledge in terms of temping food, labeling, important for cycling your stock, food prep and flexing for occupancy. 

For this internship we are flexible with the start date ideally you would start at the end of May or early June- for 6 to 12 weeks. This paid internship will range from $13.50 to $14 an hour based on prior work and volunteer experience.

Though there are a few basic items that we require all candidates to have, you must have a positive attitude about working with the public, you need to understand the importance of being punctual to work and in repose to any guest request.  Must be able to follow instructions both verbal and written.  In addition, you must have your food handlers card (can be done online).

If hired your schedule will be 4 to 5 days a week 8 hour shifts with a start time that will flex from 5 to 6 in the morning when assisting with breakfast to the afternoon when helping with banquets and the line. Your days off will fall during the week and weekends are required.

Internship #4: Housekeeping

Housekeeping is our biggest department who affects the stay of every guest.

With this internship, you will be responsible for making sure suite keepers have the support and tools they need to clean the rooms. During your internship, you will rotate throughout modules that include the below tasks:

            1. Restocking housekeeping carts with supplies

            2. Cleaning common area’s

            3. Assisting in the laundry department

            4. Assist with deliveries to guest rooms before and during their stay.

 At the end of the internship, we hope that you will have increased knowledge on the operations of the housekeeping department.

For this internship we are flexible with the start date ideally you would start at the end of May or early June- for 6 to 12 weeks. This paid internship will range from $13 to $14 an hour based on prior work and volunteer experience.

At the Embassy Suites, we love to train and develop team members. Though there are a few basic items that we require all candidates to have, you must have a positive attitude about working with the public, you need to understand the importance of being punctual to work and in repose to any guest request. Housekeeping is a very physical department so you must be willing to spend 8 hours on your feet walking, pushing and pulling carts.

 If hired your schedule will be 4 to 5 days a week 8 hour shifts with a start time that will flex from morning hours to the late afternoon. Your days off will fall during the week and weekends are required.
