Alternative Community Schools
The San Mateo County Office of Education's student-centered, WASC-accredited Community Schools Program provides personalized education for students who could benefit from an alternative school setting.
Court
Schools
The Court Schools Program operates two comprehensive WASC-accredited programs, in partnership with the San Mateo County Probation Department, to serve students in the juvenile justice system.
Early Education and Child Care
The County Office is working with school districts, California State Preschool Programs, Head Start, private preschools, and family childcare providers to ensure parent choice in selecting quality early learning programs.
Interdistrict Transfers
Parents may request an Interdistrict Attendance Appeal after the district of residence or the district of desired attendance has denied their request and they have exhausted the appeal process of the denying district.
Outdoor Education
The County Office conducts an award-winning Outdoor Education program in cooperation with local schools and the San Francisco YMCA Camp at Jones Gulch, nestled in the Redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains in La Honda, California.
