Transform Your Teaching Practice through Creativity Residencies
You are dedicated to building your students’ creative skills, but what are you doing to build your own creativity?
Creativity Residencies are free professional development opportunities open to all PreK-12 educators designed to spur their creativity through a series of remote, yet immersive, experiences in music, theater, the visual arts, and spoken word poetry. As Pablo Picasso reminds us, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” In these turbulent times, it is so important to take care of ourselves and celebrate kindness, empathy, and connection through the power of the arts. Please join us for one, two, three, or all of the sessions.
"So empowering to participate in the improv workshop, which focused on the art of teaching by incorporating creative activities designed to unlock imagination and foster community connections! I left with many ready-to-use ideas for students of all ages--and had a lot of fun in the process!"
--Anne Federwisch, Educational Consultant
"Participating in Lisa Rowland's on-line improvisation class was energizing! I took away many ideas from the workshop: the first one being stand up. Lisa had her computer on a high table or shelf and she was standing the entire class. It was a light bulb moment: when have I ever taught a drama class sitting down? She got everyone up and moving, we utilized breakout rooms and played improvisation games. I have used every game and idea in my own classroom. Through Lisa's class, I was able to reimagine my improvisation curriculum and get my own students up on their feet!"
