Everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and connected.

Whether you're a student navigating challenges, an educator supporting young people, or a family member looking for guidance, help is available. At the County Office of Education, we believe that connection and belonging are essential to helping young people thrive. This Suicide Prevention Month, we launched a new Mental Health and Wellness webpage is designed to connect students, families, educators, and community members with trusted resources and support.

Mental health is a critical part of student success, and access to timely support can make a meaningful difference. The webpage serves as a central hub for information, tools, and services that promote emotional well-being and help individuals navigate life's challenges. It includes dedicated resources for:

  • Students seeking help, encouragement, wellness strategies, or crisis support
  • Parents and caregivers looking for guidance on supporting the mental health of children and teens
  • Educators and school staff working to foster safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments
  • Community members interested in learning more about mental health and available services

Visitors can explore information on mental health and wellness, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, coping strategies, and local resources available throughout San Mateo County. The webpage also highlights the importance of seeking help early and creating supportive communities where young people feel valued and heard.

The site reflects the County Office of Education's commitment to supporting the whole child and ensuring that every student has access to caring adults, meaningful connections, and the resources they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

No matter what you're going through, remember: You are not alone. You matter. Your feelings are valid. Support is available. Seeking help is a sign of strength.

Community members are encouraged to explore the new Mental Health and Wellness webpage and share it with students, families, colleagues, and friends.

As part of the County Office of Education's ongoing commitment to mental health awareness, families and educators are also invited to attend a free online suicide prevention webinar on September 30 that will provide practical strategies for recognizing warning signs, starting supportive conversations, and connecting young people to help.

Together, we can help ensure that every child and young person knows they are supported, valued, and never alone.
