Working Together for Workforce Housing
From the Ocean to the Bay, from the mountains to the cities and towns, San Mateo County is a wonderful place to live. The high cost of housing, however, can make it hard for educators to find a place in the county to call home. The County Office of Education and its partners have pulled together resources we hope will make the process for finding a home a little easier.
Although income in San Mateo County is higher than in many other areas across the state, this difference is tempered by the high cost of living. The resources provided in this section are designed to support those looking for affordable housing in the Bay Area.

- Human Investment Project (HIP) Housing lets you search for shared housing and provides monthly listings of available rooms.
- Housing Search is a free service provided by the County of San Mateo that lists rentals and shared housing.
- The Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County works with communities to produce and preserve affordable homes and also has housing resources available.
Buying a Home
