The San Mateo County Office of Education supports schools and districts in instructional leadership, professional development, and curriculum support in raising the achievement of all students. It offers content area resources, administrative and instructional support, and deep, sustained professional development to educators in order to enhance teaching and learning in San Mateo County.

CTE College & Career Readiness

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department provides an innovative approach to education that is academically challenging and aligned with real workforce needs. CTE develops future-ready students with the skills to compete for good jobs and pursue economic mobility.

Council for Instructional Improvement (CII)

The Council for Instructional Improvement (CII) is the San Mateo County Office of Education's chief method of communicating critical instructional updates and information to school districts from the California Department of Education and the State Board of Education.

Educational Technology

The San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) provides programs and resources related to the enlightened, effective use of technology to support learning and student achievement.

Multilingual English Learner Consortium

Multilingual English Learner Consortium supports English learner achievement by providing school administrators with resources, professional development, and opportunities for collaboration, communication, and networking.

Learning Analytics Services

The Center for Learning Analytics is the data and analysis arm of the San Mateo County Office of Education. It provides quality and innovative services to San Mateo County districts and schools to foster a culture of data-informed practices at the district, site, and classroom level to achieve equity and improve the educational outcomes of all students. 

Library Media Services

SMCOE offers school library services by contract to augment and improve the district's existing library programs and collections and to enable a school district to comply with state credentialing regulations pertaining to the provision of professional library services.

STEAM Center Services

The San Mateo County Office of Education's Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Center provides teachers and administrators research-based professional development in STEAM content and pedagogy to engage, educate, and inspire our 21st-century learners.
